The 2018 Summer Guitar Academy runs from July 24 to 28th.

Hello Guitar Lovers/Enthusiasts/Supporters,
The 2018 Summer Guitar Academy, directed by Dr. Alexander Dunn,  will be held between July 24-28, on the University of Victoria campus. We are excited to be hosting wonderful guest artists Randy Pile (San Clemente), Steve Cowan (Montreal) and Michael Kolk (Toronto) – as well as emerging young artists Simon Farintosh (BC), Razvan Bezna (TX) and Christopher Boston (FL). A special Young Learners Program will be led by Natasha Pashchenko (BC). All levels are welcome.
The Academy will feature the Guitar Orchestra – a mixed group of faculty alongside participants, playing arrangements created specifically for the SGA. The orchestra has been very popular in the past and we look forward to another orchestra showcase experience.  Masterclasses will be offered by faculty and each participant will receive a private lesson from guest faculty.
Afternoon concerts are by Alexander Dunn (featuring the music of F. Rebay), Randy Pile (with music of Brouwer and Villa-Lobos), and the impressive Emerging Young Artists series. The Victoria Guitar Society is hosting the final event – an evening concert with SGA faculty Steve Cowan & Michael Kolk.
The SGA is an enriching musical gathering combining virtuosity, excellent teaching and a fun guitar community – all delivered in a relaxed learning environment in beautiful Victoria, BC.  Affordable housing is available on the university campus, just minutes away by foot.  The cost of the academy –  $309.25CAD (or $133.25CAD for the Young Learners Program) is an exceptional value and well below the cost of other summer guitar events.
